Here you will find all the information about the school choir.
Music has always played a significant role in the life of Scoil Réalt na Mara.
Children from 3rd to 6th class sing in the school choir for specific school occasions i.e.Confirmation and Communion ceremonies. Cór na Scoile has performed at these ceremonies each year since the school was founded.
Rehearsals take place from January each year on a weekly basis. All pupils from these classes are invited to be part of the school choir.
Responsibility for auditioning, training and managing the choir is undertaken by a teacher who liaises with other múinteoirí in relation to both muinteoirí and paistí who will play instruments during the ceremonies.
Other múinteoirí wishing to assist in this activity are encouraged to do so.
When the Cór need to attend church rehearsals the teaching staff including the ancillary staff provide supervision.
In recent years the Cór has taken part in the Hallelujah Concert, the Peace Proms, Cór na nÓg and also in several Community Events.
Each year Rang 6 visit the Skerries Senior Citizens where they sing, dance and play music for them.
The children who play musical instruments are encouraged to take them to school on Fridays where they can play together and perform at Tionól.
